Oral Human Papillomavirus
Oral human papillomavirus may be treated using cryosurgery and cone biopsy if suspicious of cancer.
Infection occurs during the contact with a virus or with an infected person. The mouth at the cellular level is very similar to the vagina and cervix, so it is prone to cervical cancer, primaruly squamous cells carcinomas. Smoking and alcohol help promote the cancer invasion.

HPV is suspected to be the cause of the cancer of the mouth. HPV-16 and HPV-18 are found in cancer tissues, but scientists are not sure how it contributes to the development of cancerous cells. Hpv infects the epithelial cells of skin and mucosa of the mouth, throat, tongue, tonsils. Oral human papillomavirus may be treated using cryosurgery and cone biopsy if suspicious of cancer.
