HPV Testing
Hpv testing or hpv dna testing is done with an ASCUS reading from a pap smear, to determine if high risk cervical cancer causing hpv strains are present.
The procedure is rather simple and takes about 15 minutes. The patient may feel slight discomfort, especially if the vagina is irritated, and slight bleeding is possible after the examination. Tampons, douches, medications and menstrual bleeding may affect the results.

ASCUS, Cervical Cancer
This procedure is performed after a Pap smear test have shown the abnormal changes in the cervix. A sample of cells collected from the cervix is sent for further analysis to determine whether some types of human papillomavirus caused the problem. Hpv testing or hpv dna testing is done with an ASCUS reading from a pap smear, to determine if high risk cervical cancer causing hpv strains are present.
