Genital Wart Diagnosis
To make a genital wart diagnosis or determine cervical dysplasia, vulvar vestibulitis and other genital disorders a colposcopy exam is necessary.
HPV cannot be cultured and serologic tests are not available to for testing of HPV antibodies. The physician may detect subclinical infections by applying a weak vinegar solution to the area, making the lesions visible. An exam by a physician will determine the prescence of HPV.
